Values should be integrated into various aspects of life. It goes without saying that values go a long way in building a person’s character. Education without strong character is like a ship without a captain. A good education is inconceivable if it fails to inculcate values that are indispensable for a holistic life. Qualifications and skills are essential in the success of an individual but without values, he/she is incomplete as a person. Every week there is a valuable education orientation program where students are taught the importance of moral values and their importance in our daily lives.
Our Activities
Value Education
Volunteer Program
The orphanage program offers volunteers the opportunity to give love, care, affection, and attention to the kids who are in need. This volunteer opportunity is full of life and is often viewed as a life-changing experience.
The volunteers assist the orphanage staff with the daily routines for the children who range from 1-6 years old (both girls and boys). The children vary in all different needs, development, and abilities based on their individual backgrounds. Volunteers participate in dressing, feeding, playing, caring, and loving the orphanage children. Our volunteers are able to make a profound difference in orphan’s lives by providing them with affection and love that may not otherwise receive or experience.
Sports
Fun sports games are one fun thing that nearly all kids can agree upon. Whether it’s team sports activities, sports games for kids, kids exercises, or even just talking about sports there is something for everyone. The most important attribute to instill in kids is to stress the importance of hard work. All of the greatest athletes succeeded because they put in hard work. Talent and opportunity are not enough, and kids need to know this. We conduct many sports and games events in our orphanage to inculcate team spirit and to maintain the health of the children. We strictly follow the saying that ‘All work no play makes a person sick’.
Cultural Activity
Thomas Children Home for the needy promotes Cultural activities in these Orphanages for children to develop a sense of curiosity in learning about the culture and traditions of their country. TCHN believes that encouraging cultural activities may also play a significant role in a child’s personal development. Many cultural events like singing, dancing, playing musical instruments are held frequently in our orphanage.
Skill Development
As we all know in the present market if you have not any vocational skills or professional skills then you have no chance to get a suitable job. So we think we should provide vocational knowledge to those children and eligible them to stand in their own spirit. So in our Thomas Children School for Needy, we provide training classes for interested students in various skillful activities like writing, drawing, acting, and many more…
Field Trips
Field trips bring better grades in studies. Through real-life connections and hands-on experience of the lessons they are learning in school, students are more likely to understand the subject better. This relevance of what they are learning helps them to perform better in school exams, tests, and projects. Sri Josna usually accompanies children to field trips. Today’s students are visual learners and a field trip lets them touch, feel, and listen to what they’re learning about, [which helps them] build on classroom instruction, gain a better understanding of topics, build cultural understanding and tolerance, and expose them to worlds outside their own.
Sustainability
The produce and livestock raised provide our children, volunteers, and our ministry outreaches with healthy, nutritious, organic, and humanely raised food. Children are educated on how to farm and raise livestock, and plant trees. It not only teaches responsibility but also provides invaluable skills for their future. Self-sustainability carries our mission through economic hardships.
